Need-Based Merit Scholarships
Need-Based Merit Scholarships may be awarded on the basis of financial need and the likelihood of success in the applicant’s chosen career, based on the applicant’s academic record and personal accomplishments.
What is the award amount of the need-based merit scholarship?
	Two $5,000 tuition scholarships.
Are there any other requirements in addition to completing the scholarship application?
	Yes. A letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, or principal must accompany the application.
How will the personal merit scholarship winners be determined?
	A scholarship recommendation committee made up of the WVJC Executive Director, senior administrator, and other individuals recognized for their contribution to education will make the recommendations.
