Personal Merit Scholarships
Personal Merit Scholarships are awarded to those seniors most likely to achieve career success in their chosen field. The awards will be based on academic merit as well as personal accomplishments.
What is the award amount of the personal merit scholarship?
	Four scholarships—(2) $5,000 tuition scholarships and (2) $2,500 scholarships may be awarded.
Are there any other requirements in addition to completing the scholarship application?
	Yes. A letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, or principal must accompany the application.
How will the personal merit scholarship winners be determined?
	A scholarship recommendation committee made up of the WVJC Executive Director, senior administrator, and other individuals recognized for their contribution to education will make the recommendations.
